About
Gavin Boyes.
Coach, based in Dubai. I work one to one with a small number of clients, and I keep everything measured.
I've been coaching for [X] years, most of them in Dubai, and Boyes Lifting Club is the way I've always wanted to do it: a small number of clients, real attention on each one, and decisions made from what the numbers say rather than what a template says.
[Qualifications — e.g. certifying body and level, nutrition qualification, anything else relevant. Two lines at most.]
Most of the people I work with are busy — long days, travel, a life that doesn't bend around a training plan. So the plan has to bend around the life. That's why everything I do is built to survive a bad week: targets that flex for training and rest days, a programme you can pick back up, and a check-in that tells us early when something has slipped.
I built the tracker my clients use because nothing off the shelf did what I needed. It has grown with every client since, and it is the reason I can say with confidence whether a week worked — and what to do next if it didn't.
Outside of coaching, I lift. I'm not interested in looking like a coach who doesn't train; the programme I write for you is the kind of programme I'd follow myself.
How I coach
Four things you can expect.
- Measured
- Weight, sets, steps, sleep, adherence — averaged, graphed and reviewed every week. If it matters to the outcome, it's tracked. If it doesn't, I won't ask you to log it.
- Patient
- Programmes run in 12-week phases because that's how long it takes for a change to show itself properly. I'd rather move one variable at a time and know what worked.
- Honest
- If adherence was a 5, I'll say so, and we'll work out why. You'll never wonder what I really think about how the week went.
- Practical
- Travel, Ramadan, a work trip, a bad night's sleep — the plan adapts to the week you actually have. Consistency over months beats perfection for a fortnight.
